The reboot of Master of Orion, a turn-based strategy game series dormant for more than a decade, will be released on Aug. 25, according to publisher Wargaming.
Wargaming purchased the rights to the Master of Orion property back in 2013 during an Atari bankruptcy auction and announced plans to release a graphically and mechanically modern version of the game last year, with an Early Access release back in February. Master of Orion is the first game in the series since 2003’s Master of Orion 3.
Voice actors include Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly).
Master of Orion for Windows PC will cost $29.99, and will include a copy of 1997 realtime strategy game Total Annihilation, so long as the player has or creates a Wargaming.net account. A Collector’s Edition will also be available for $49.99, which includes a digital art book, the three original Master of Orion games, soundtrack ships skins, and an extra alien race.
