With the announcement of the new set of Playstation 4 consoles, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, Sony announced a set of brand new peripherals to accompany them. They showed them off at the Sony’s Playstation Meeting 2016, this past September 7.
DualShock 4 controller
Shortly after the event, in a press release; they announced the new designs for the DualShock 4 Controller, the Playstation Camera, a new vertical stand designed for the sleeker models of the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, and the Platinum Wireless Headset, this getting an upgrade on the existing Gold Wireless Headset that is available for the original PS4 model.
The new controller is the least noticeable design change of the four, since on the outside now lets light front the light bar emit to the touch pad – making it easier for the players to track the health – while also supporting USB communication 3 as well as Bluetooth. This will let the PC gamers connect the controller directly to the computers, helping this DualShock design become more popular with that demographic.
The controller is expected to cost around $59 USD.
The Playstation Camera now supports PS VR technology, and now it comes in a new shape that looks like a small set of speakers. It also comes with a stand so that users can adjust the angle.
The new PS Camera will be available for $59 USD.
The vertical stand, is made to fit the newest consoles and it’s made of a translucent material. It will be available for $24 USD.
The Platinum Wireless Headset was presented as a “high-end gaming headset”, with 7.1 surround sound and a hidden noise-cancelling microphone. This headset will also work with both PS VR and mobile devices.
The materiales sports “premium construction and materials for extra comfort”, and it will be available for $159 USD.
I can’t wait to get my hands on these new peripherals, specially the new Wireless Headsets. I personally use the Gold with my console, making the whole experience of gaming more enjoyable. With new consoles, comes new accesories!
