There’s an esoteric but still useful feature coming to Xbox One with the console’s latest update: The ability to deactivate its power-on chime, or control when it rings.
Released yesterday, the update adds the option to the Xbox One’s Settings: Power & Startup menu. Users who don’t want to hear the chime can turn it off. There’s also the option to hear the chime only if it is powered on at the console itself or by voice command, not with the controller button.
This update is smaller and other than the chime feature, it mainly fixes issues within the user interface and Xbox Universal Store. The full patch notes are available here.
