Nintendo has recently announced the release date for the Android version of their mobile game Super Mario Run. This happened via the official Nintendo of America Twitter account where it was revealed that the game would arrive next week on March 23. The company announced in January that Super Mario Run would be coming to Android in March, so this date is in line with their estimated release window.
Super Mario Run first released for iOS on December 15, 2016 and was immediately downloaded by millions of users. A little over a week after release, Nintendo had reported that the game had been downloaded 50 million times. When last reported in January, Super Mario Run had been downloaded 78 millions times and had brought in approximately $53 million in revenue for Nintendo. The Android version of the game will only make those numbers go up.
We reviewed Super Mario Run in December and gave it a “great” rating with an 8/10 score. If you would like to read our review in full, be sure to head here to check it out.
If you’re an Android user, you can pre-register now ahead of the mobile platformer’s Wednesday release. Also don’t forget that you can download the game for free to play a trial mode of its first few levels before later being prompted to unlock the full game for $9.99, so there’s no harm in downloading it to see what it’s like for yourself.
